I’m a firm believer that Christmas music and decorations are for mid-November (normally after Thanksgiving) through New Year’s Eve.
But here at the Tribune office it’s already time to think about Christmas. I know, I know, Halloween hasn’t even happened yet.
Now that the annual Senior Citizen Issue is done, my next special issue is the Christmas Saturation Issue, which is my biggest issue of the year.
This issue goes out free of charge to all the households in the Mullen, Tryon, Seneca, Thedford, Whitman and Hyannis areas, in addition to the regular subscribers - almost 2,000 households. Published on Dec. 8 this year, the deadline for this issue is just a few weeks away.
The best Saturation Issues I’ve published over the years are the ones with the most community involvement.
So, nominate someone for the Tribune’s annual Sandhills Someone Special. When nominating, please list the reasons for your nomination - what the person has done for you, the community, their family, friends, their involvement in organizations, etc. The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Mullen business of their choice, courtesy of the Tribune.
Enter your favorite Christmas/ winter photos in the Tribune’s Christmas photo contest. The winner of this contest will receive a free one year subscription to the Tribune.
Submit your hunting and fishing photos for a chance to win a 2023 Nebraska State Park Permit from the Tribune.
Advertise your business or Christmas deals you are selling.
Contact me with any story ideas (tribune@nebnet.net), or write a story yourself!
My work schedule gets extra busy from now until the end of the year and you’ll be hearing and seeing a lot about the Christmas Saturation Issue in issues of the Tribune and on the Tribune’s social media pages.
Participate, it will be fun! ‘Tis the season! Well... close enough.
