Mullen eighth grader Ava Kvanvig qualified to compete in the high jump at the all class Junior High Nebraska State Track Meet in Gothenburg last Saturday, May 16. Opening height was 4’8” and Ava went out attempting 5’. She finished 12th out of 23.

Broncos win Mullen Golf Invite

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco golf team won their own invite last Wednesday, May 13. Their team score of 372 finished just ahead of South Loup’s 378.Ben Werner was the individual champion with a 76, while Jacob Walker shot a 79 for second place.

Avery and Meyer Vinton com peted in the Nebraska Youth Track & Field Meet in North Platte on Saturday, May 16. Meyer (left) placed 4th in the 400 and Avery placed 1st in the 800, 3rd in softball throw and 3rd in the 400 to both qualify for the state meet in Grand Island on June 13.

Bronco track teams compete in last regular season meet

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco track teams competed in their last regular season meet of the season last Friday, May 8 at the Dave Blevins Memorial Invite in Arnold.The Lady Broncos finished3rd out of 8 teams, while the boys finished 4th out of 9 teams.

by Gerri Peterson The MHS JV golf team competed at Thedford last Wednesday, May 6.Colby Kessler shot a 49 to place 8th and Hayden Morrison shot a 56.The golf team then competed at the North Platte St.Pat’s Invite on Thursday, May 7.

Athletic Banquet held

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen High School Athletic Banquet was held on Monday, May 4 at the Lariat.Following a supper where the Mullen Commercial Club provided meat, potatoes and drinks, and attendees brought salads, vegetables and desserts, season highlights were given by the coaches.

Broncos place 2nd, 4th at MNAC track

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco track teams competed in MNAC action last Friday, May 1, in Arnold.The Lady Broncos were MNAC runners-up with 111 points, behind South Loup’s 129 points. The boys placed fourth out of the eight conference teams.
