Jacob Walker named to All-State Golf

The 2026 Nebraska Coaches Association Boys Golf Super-State/All-State Teams have been announced.Classification comparisons are based solely on the athlete’s performance at the NSAA State Championship two day score to course par.Jacob Walker of Mullen was named All-State for Class D.

Whitney Jennings to compete at CNFR

Mid-Plains Community College has qualified nine student-athletes in 11 events for the College National Finals Rodeo, set for June 14-20 in Casper, Wyoming.Among them is Whitney Jennings of Seneca, making her second appearance in Casper, as the reserve champion in breakaway.

MHS seniors Alex Werner, Jacob Walker and Hayley Donohoe (pictured l-r) competed in the MNAC vs MAC All Star basketball games last Saturday, May 30 at South Platte High School. MNAC won both games, 45-27 for the girls and 57-43 for the boys. Jacob Walker was named MVP for the MNAC boys.

by Barb McIntosh Last Sunday started our opening night of town team slow pitch softball, having 18 players ready to play. It was a lot of bats swinging with a score 52-36 and great defensive plays. It was very fun to watch! Games will be played every Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m., come join the fun.

Broncos earn State Golf medals

by Gerri Peterson Mullen High School senior Jacob Walker and sophomore Ben Werner capped off a great golf season by both bringing home medals at the Class D NSAA Boys’ Golf Championships last Tuesday and Wednesday, May 27-28 in Columbus.

Bronco relay teams place at State

by Gerri Peterson Twelve Mullen Broncos finished their track season at State Track in Omaha last weekend.The girls’ 4x800 relay team consisting of freshman Abby Gracey, juniors Harper Andersen and Ady Hampton and freshman Kaisley Phipps placed 3rd with a time of 10:23.

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco boys golf team played Ogallala’s Crandall Creek course for Districts last Tuesday, May 19.Two Broncos finished in the top 10 to qualify for State Golf.Sophomore Ben Werner shot a 78 for 4th place, just 4 strokes from first place.
