Local VFDs train at Mullen’s fire training center

  • Mullen native Tyrell Wilson (back to the camera) was an instructor for the interior fire and search and rescue training held at Mullen’s fire training center last Saturday, April 12. Wilson is the Fire Safety Lead at Gerald Gentleman Station at Sutherland. Firefighters from Mullen, Thedford, Stapleton, Tryon, Sandhills and Hyannis Volunteer Fire Departments took part in the training.   • Mullen Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Tyler Cash was in charge of operating the water truck at Saturday’s training. He’s pictured explaining to his 12-year-old son Cooper Cash what was happening during the training. Cooper said he is counting down the years until he can be-SEE come a volunteer fireman too!
