by Gerri Peterson If you’d like to receive notifications about weather or wildfires in the area, sign up for the Keith County Mass Notification system, Regroup, online at: https://embeds. regroupcloud.com/orgs/ keithcountyne/signup_embed. The Keith County Emergency Management dispatches for Hooker, McPherson, Logan, Grant and Arthur counties, in addition to Keith County.
Previously called Code Red, the service changed to Regroup about three years ago and uses the phone numbers 308-284-7720 and 7790.
David Kling, Keith County’s Emergency Management Director, said most people sign up for the alerts for weather, but other alerts also go out on the service, such as when there are large wildfires.
When registering for the mass notification system, you can choose how you’d like to receive notifications: email, call and/or text and also which channels you’d like to subscribe to: severe thunderstorm warning, severe thunderstorm watch, winter storm warning, winter storm watch, flash flood warning, tornado warning, tornado watch, blizzard warning and blizzard watch.
