Now taking Saturation Issue submissions!

It’s already time to start thinking about the Tribune’s annual Christmas Saturation Issue!!

This issue goes out free of charge to all the households in the Mullen, Tryon, Seneca, Thedford, Whitman and Hyannis areas, in addition to the regular subscribers almost 2,000 households!

This year’s Saturation Issue will be published Dec. 11.

*Sandhills Someone Special - nominate someone for this honor. The person (or even an organization or group) with the most nominations will be named the Tribune’s Sandhills Someone Special and will have their story printed in the Saturation Issue. When nominating, please list the reasons for your nomination - what the person has done for you, the community, their family, friends, their involvement in organizations, etc. The winner of the contest will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Mullen business of their choice, courtesy of the Tribune.

*Christmas photo contest pick your favorite Christmas/ winter photos, or your Christmas photo outtakes. Uncooperative kids? Silly faces? Scared of Santa? Share your not-so-perfect Christmas photos for a good laugh. Please be sure to provide a caption, including names of people pictured. Drop off, mail or email photos to tribune@nebnet.net. The winner of the photo contest will receive a free one year subscription to the Tribune, along with their photo printed in the Saturation Issue!

*Hunting and fishing photos - will also be featured again in the Saturation Issue. Did you catch a Master Angler? Shoot a deer, antelope or elk? A limit of geese? Win a fishing tournament? Photos received by Dec. 1 will be featured in the issue. Include the people pictured and a brief synopsis of your hunting or fishing trip! Photos will only be accepted of yourself or your immediate family members. Each person who submits a photo will be entered in a drawing for a 2026 Nebraska State Park Permit.

*Holiday recipes - do you have a favorite holiday recipe? A main dish, appetizer, dessert, etc.? Share it with Tribune readers by submitting it for this special Christmas issue! Be sure to include why the recipe is a favorite.

*Christmas advertisement or business story - business owners are encouraged to promote their business through advertisements and/ or stories about their business - anything from the business’ history, to future plans for the business.

*Any type of story - everyone is invited to submit any type of story to be included in the issue - Christmas related or not. The story could be a first person account, or could be something you’ve written about someone else. Stories from other newspapers or publications regarding local people/events are also welcome!
