Every year since 1993, Samaritan’s Purse has collected shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items for children around the world. More than 188 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.
Mullen’s Sandhills Community Bible Church is filling shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child again this year. The community is invited to join in this worldwide outreach. Please stop by Sandhills Community Bible Church to pick up a preprinted box, or contact Pastor Bob (308-539-0904) if you have questions. Samaritan’s Purse does suggest a $9.00 donation per shoebox to help with shipping and other project costs.
Filled boxes need to be returned to Sandhills Community Bible Church by Sunday, Nov. 14.
You can find a list of what to include and not include in your shoebox at https://www.samaritanspurse.org.
Or, here is also an example:
1. A “Wow” Item - soccer ball with pump, doll, stuffed animal, shoes
2. Toys - toy cars, jump rope, yo-yos, toys that light up and make noise (with extra batteries)
3. Personal Care Items (no liquids) - toothbrushes, washcloths, combs, hair brushes
4. School Supplies - pens, pencils, sharpeners, crayons, and markers, notebooks and paper, coloring and picture books, solar calculators

The amazing journey of a shoebox gift begins with you and results in evangelism, discipleship and multiplication.
