Mullen Book Club reading One Book One Nebraska selection

The Mullen Book Club’s first book of 2024 is the 2024 One Book One Nebraska selection, “Dancing with the Octopus” by Debora Harding. We will be meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Mullen Arts Center to discuss it. Copies of the book are available at the Hooker County Library.

by Barb Svoboda Want to help Mullen EMS but don’t want to be an EMT or a driver? Mullen EMS is looking for individuals, groups or businesses who would be willing to cook a meal for the upcoming EMT classes being held in Mullen. Classes will be held one night a week beginning Jan.

Mullen EMS was awarded $2,800 by the Sandhills Area Community Foundation to support the purchase of a new ambulance and equipment. Barb Svoboda was in Valentine to accept the grant.
