28 units collected at blood drive

by Nicole Hoffmann Twenty-eight units of blood were donated at the blood drive Aug. 7, including four power red donations. We were just short of our goal of 30 units.

For the past couple of years Charlotte Hoatson has taken it upon herself to care for the bench and flower area near the main railroad crossing in Mullen. She has decorated it for Easter, the 4th of July, Halloween and Christmas among other themes.

by Gerri Peterson Twenty-two pre-K through sixth graders participated in the Bicycle Rodeo last Monday evening, July 31, competing in the events of weave, sponge drop and slowest race. The event was sponsored by the Country Clovers 4-H Club.

Hooker County 4-H Horse Show held

by T. L. Meyer, Beef Systems Extension Educator The Hooker County Horse Show on Tuesday, Aug. 1 showcased 10 4-Hers. Judge Wendy Andersen, Hay Springs, evaluated their horsemanship skills. Brooke McIntosh, Hooker County 4-H Council member, served as superintendent and ring steward.
