submitted by Randy Saner, Extension Educator Recently a small utility tractor rollover fatality in southeast Nebraska is a wake-up call to the dangers involved in operating older tractors, without roll over protection. The danger exists on farms and acreages, no matter what your age and experience.

The Mullen Commercial Club organized a Cedarview Cemetery clean up day on Sunday, May 21. After lunch provided by the Commercial Club, over 30 people mowed, used weed eaters and dug a LOT of cactuses that afternoon. Though the cactus project is one that is always ongoing!!

Monday, May 15 Bob and Peggy Marsh went to North Platte. Peggy visited Dorothy James at Linden Estates and Linda Cox and Betty Brown at Linden Court. Ty Marsh of rural Axtell stayed overnight at Bob and Peggy’s that night. Hadley and Kyler Marsh spent Tuesday with their grandparents.

Memorial Day programs planned

A Sunset Service will be held at Dry Valley Church on Sunday, May 28 at 7:00 p.m. with Dawn Mallory delivering the message. The church is located 14 miles north of Mullen on Highway 97, then 3 miles west. Mullen’s Memorial Day program will be Monday, May 29 at the Lariat at 10:00 a.m.

Thedford - Here are a few updates from your Nebraska Extension office serving Blaine, Thomas, Hooker and Grant counties. Camp: Camping season is almost upon us but there is still time for youth to sign up for a camp with Nebraska State 4-H Camp. Scholarships from different sources can be stacked.
