United Women in Faith meet at Methodist Church

by Lois Folk United Women in Faith met on Wednesday afternoon, April 19th in the senior high room of the Methodist Church with five members present. President Sue Bonesteel opened the meeting by giving prayer to comfort those who hurt and to be with us in our prayers for others.

Mullen Book Club’s next book pick

The Mullen Book Club will be discussing “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides at their next meeting, which will be Wednesday, May 17, 6:00 p.m. at Bree DeNaeyer’s home. Bring an appetizer to share. Copies of the book are available at the Hooker County Library.

Free farm/ranch finance clinic

A free farm finance clinic for farmers and ranchers and their families will be held in Valentine on Thursday, May 11. The clinic is confidential, one-on-one sessions with an experienced ag law attorney and ag finance counselor. These clinics have been offered in Nebraska since 1989.

Bob and Peggy Marsh attended the Overton track meet with Jeri Edis Tuesday to cheer on Jenna Marsh of Axtell. There they were able to visit with Jenna’s mom, Jennifer Marsh. Tuesday evening, the Marshes attended Mullen’s spring music program to watch grandkids, Hadley and Kyler, perform.
