Brent Plugge honored with Distinguished Service Award

Lincoln - Brent Plugge received the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) from the National Association of County Agriculture Agents during the 2022 Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference. The conference was held in West Palm Beach, Florida, on July 20.

Drew and Stephanie Folk and Lois Folk visited Clayton Gall at Pueblo, Colorado, on Aug. 27 and ate dinner with him at the boarding home. They did errands for him before returning to Haxtun, Colorado. Lois and Drew came to Mullen on Monday, Aug. 29.

Larry and Georgann French entertained Sunday evening to celebrate Leah Carson’s birthday. Guests were Stuart and Leah Carson, Lois Nordahl, Leila Hicks, Justin French and Mike French.

Bob Marsh went to Hyannis Tuesday afternoon to visit Wyatt Thurston. Bob and Peggy Marsh went to North Platte Tuesday afternoon. Daryl and Doris Starr returned Sunday from a nine day trip to Pigeon Forge and historic Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and the Smokey Mountain National Park.

Book Club’s next pick

The Mullen Book Club will meet next on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7:00 p.m. (please note time change for this month) at the Mullen Arts Center to discuss “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Anyone is welcome to join us anytime!

by Alice Lutes Summer is over, the leaves are falling and it’s time for Joy Club to begin. Calling all boys and girls ages 3 years through the 6th grade to come to the basement of the Assembly of God Church beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 5th and continuing each of the following Wednesdays.
