Sandhills Rodeo Bible Camp next week

The Third Annual Sandhills Rodeo Bible Camp will be held in Mullen at the Hooker County Fairgrounds June 21-23. Campers ages 8-16 from all across the state have signed up.

On Sunday, June 12, the six national qualifiers from the Mullen FCCLA chapter made their way into the Middle Loup River for the Commercial Club sponsored Duck Race. This year’s winner was John Kraye, in second was Judy Ridenour, and in third Doug Deibler.

Summer Reading Program is June 23

The Summer Reading Program, “Oceans of Possibilities” will be held at the Hooker County Library on Thursday, June 23 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. If your child is unable to attend on the 23rd, they are still welcome to read for prizes.

Mullen News

Darla Long Robinson of Grand View, Idaho, Clyde Huddle of Humansville, Missouri, Butch Marsh of Valentine, Phyllis Eberl and Benny Lange of Warsaw, Missouri, and Terry and Mardell Huddle spent the weekend attending the alumni banquet and other activities.

South Hooker

Mick and Midge Harding took in almost all of the activities over the weekend and attended the alumni banquet Saturday evening. A memorial service was held for Virginia French on June 11 at the Albert and Virginia family getaway south of Mullen on the Dismal River.

South Cherry

Peggy Marsh helped with the pie sale at the Old Hotel Friday. Bob Marsh visited the Terry Huddles that evening. Bob and Peggy went to the lunch by the Commercial Club under the Chuckwagon ’n Jug awning Saturday noon.
