Free clinics for ranchers April 19

Free clinics for farmers and ranchers and their families are being held on Tuesday, April 19 in Valentine. They are confidential, one-on-one sessions with an experienced ag law attorney and ag finance counselor. These clinics have been offered in Nebraska since 1989.

April 4-H Project of the Month - Horse

The horse industry contributes approximately $50 billion to the U.S. economy and directly impacts more than 900,000 jobs, according to the American Horse Council. The 4-H Horse Project is one of the most popular projects in the Central Sandhills Area.

NPCC Theater to present spring production

The North Platte Community College Theater department will present “Laughing at Shakespeare” for its spring production. Performances will feature scenes from 11 plays by English poet, playwright and actor William Shakespeare.

Methodist Women hold meeting

The General Unit of the United Methodist Women met in the senior high room of the church Wednesday afternoon, March 23 with five members present. President Sue Bonesteel opened the meeting asking for joys and concerns and gave prayer for strength and encouragement.

Walleye egg collections begin

Fisheries staff at the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission again will capture spawning walleyes at Sherman Reservoir, Merritt Reservoir and Lake McConaughy to collect eggs to meet stocking requests.
