Book Club to meet again March 16

The Mullen Book Club will be discussing “The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics” by Daniel James Brown at their next meeting on Wednesday, March 16. They will meet at 6:00 p.m. at the Mullen Arts Center. Zoom is available upon request.

Hooker County Historical Society to meet next Thursday, March 31

A meeting of the Hooker County Historical Society was held at the Old Hotel/Museum on Thursday, Jan. 27. In attendance were Ted and Sue Bonesteel, Charlie Jones, Ken Clark, Peggy Marsh and new member Jason Coble. Ken called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

This year is an election year, with the Primary Election to be May 10, 2022, and the General Election Nov. 8, 2022. Many public offices are up for election this year, including several local positions.

To the residents of Hooker, Thomas and Grant counties, as well as families of these counties, I am a nurse that has worked as needed (PRN) for Pioneer Memorial Rest Home for around six years. We ranch so sometimes I have worked full time and other times just when needed, and I was/am able to come.

The Sandhills Journey National Scenic Byway annual conference was held Saturday, Feb. 5 at the One Box in Broken Bow. Throughout the afternoon a vendor showcase was offered by a variety of vendors. Meetings were also held to offer assistance and ideas to byway members and guests.

Pajama Day at Lots of Love Day Care

Pajamas to work? No, I don’t think so. But the kids at Lots of Love Day Care got to wear their favorite pajamas to day care for Valentine’s Day. They had a Valentine’s Day celebration that included Circle Time themed songs, making treat bags and also giving mom and dad special treats.
