Charlotte Hoatson went to Ty Hoatson’s at Hyannis Sunday and celebrated Halloween with grandchildren Body and Tylyan. Lynn and Linda Bartak of Broken Bow were Saturday visitors at Dorothy James’. Peggy Marsh and Dorothy went to Broken Bow Tuesday for Dorothy’s hearing appointment.

Peggy Marsh went with Jill Buchfinck Tuesday evening to a meeting at Thedford High School with several Nebraska congressmen on the agenda. Bob and Peggy Marsh attended the Mullen football playoff game Friday.

Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes

Every year since 1993, Samaritan’s Purse has collected shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items for children around the world. More than 188 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox.

Hooker County 4-H enrollment Nov. 17

Shaniya Albertus, 4-H Assistant, will be traveling to each county to help families enroll in 4-H using the new 4-H Online 2.0 system. Once enrolled, 4-Hers can also begin selecting projects.

Mobile food pantry here on Saturday

A drive through mobile food pantry will be in Mullen on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 10- 11 a.m. at the Hooker County Fairgrounds. Everyone is welcome - no documentation needed. Call Mullen Assembly of God at 308-546-2253 with any questions. This event is sponsored by Food Bank for the Heartland.

Veterans Day program next week

Mullen’s annual Veterans Day program will be held on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lariat. The Hooker County Historical Society Museum will be open from 10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11. Stop by and look at the veterans’ photo display.
