Mullen native Pat Simonson ranching north of Seneca

Patrick Thomas Simonson was born in North Platte, Nebraska, on April 1, 1951. His parents were Jack and Kitty Simonson, together they had three children. Pat’s other brothers are Doug and Joe, both of which were older. His childhood was spent on a ranch in southern Cherry County.

Sharilyn Bader went to the Town Hall meeting in North Platte with Karen Happ on Thursday and they enjoyed the program, lunch and shopping. Sharilyn went to Book Club at the Arts Center Wednesday. They had a good discussion.

South Cherry

Bob and Peggy Marsh went to North Platte Tuesday for a medical appointment and met Bob and Beth Davis of rural North Platte for lunch at KFC. Mark and Merek Petersen of rural Minden had lunch at the Bob Marshes Wednesday. Peggy went to Valentine Thursday.

South Hooker

Larry and Georgann French, Leah and Stuart Carson, Mike and Leanne French, Nancy and Steve Labbe of Hudson, Colorado, and Clint and Angela Cary of LaPort, Indiana, left Friday, Oct. 16 and went to Moab, Utah, and the Red Rock Arches Park and went 4-wheeling. They returned home Oct. 24.

Tom Shavlik wins the $5,000 grand prize at HCCF raffle

The 5th annual Hooker County Community Foundation Raffle was held last Saturday night, Oct. 23 at the Hooker County Community Center. Proceeds from the event benefit the community center.

Mullen Book Club to meet Nov. 17

The Mullen Book Club will meet next on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 6:00 p.m. at the Mullen Arts Center. They will be discussing “The Chicken Sisters” by KJ Dell’Antonia. Please bring an appetizer and/or a drink to share. Copies of the book are available at the Hooker County Library.
