Energy Bag program complements current NRD recycling efforts

In 2016 the Hefty Energy Bag program launched in Nebraska. A group of companies banded together to develop and introduce a program in Omaha, Nebraska, called Hefty Energy Bag, which has been designed to convert hard-to-recycle plastics into energy.

One new local COVID-19 case, new DHM, vaccine arrives

Hooker County had one new case of COVID-19 last week, with a test date of Dec. 9.
According to the West Central District Health Department Dashboard, Hooker County had 7 active cases as of press time on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

Trent Cox wanted nothing to do with Santa last Thursday when the Mullen Commercial Club brought him to town. Trent clung onto his mom, Erin Cox, while his older siblings Cort, Olivia and Luke talked to Santa.

National Finals Breakaway Roping results

Local cowgirls Katie Mundorf of Mullen and Kirby Eppert of Seneca competed in the Inaugural National Finals Breakaway Roping last week at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, during the National Finals Rodeo.
Both women made some money on the trip in the 10 rounds in 3 days, December 8-10.
