Editor’s note: We have a couple corrections and additions to last week’s story about Vinton Feed changing ownership.In the paragraph talking about changes in the business over four decades, it should have said, “all of their selling used to be face to face.

Vacation Bible School is June 16-20

Mullen Methodist Church’s Vacation Bible School will be held June 16-20, 9 a.m. to noon each day. This year’s theme is “Everywhere Fun Fair where God’s World Comes Together.” The program and a potluck lunch will be held Sunday, June 22 at 11 a.m. All are welcome.

Summer Reading Program is June 12

Backyard Farmer live in Valentine Tuesday

Lincoln – “Backyard Farmer” will travel to Nebraska’s scenic Sandhills to record an episode in Valentine on Tuesday, June 10.The public is invited to be part of this free event at the Frederick Peak Golf Club, 1000 Dowden St., with a question and answer session starting at 5:15 p.m.

Free Mobile Pantry to be here June 4

Food Bank for the Heartland will host a free Mobile Pantry in Mullen, Nebraska, on Wednesday, June 4 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., or until food runs out. The mobile pantry will take place at the Hooker County Fairgrounds, located at 36531 Fairgrounds Road.

Forty-one years ago Dale Ginkens was working construction and needed a job over the winter, so he started working for Vinton Feed Store.It turned into a long winter because he’s still there!
