Marvin Gorsuch

Marvin D. Gorsuch, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 3, 2026.

He was born on June 22, 1957, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Wayne W. and Janet R. (McIntosh) Gorsuch. On March 1, 2001, he married JoAnn in Alliance, beginning a marriage filled with love, laughter and family.

Marvin graduated from Mullen High School in 1976. He began his career with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway in 1977. He dedicated 40 years of service to the railroad before retiring in 2017.

A cowboy at heart, Marvin’s love for rodeo was a defining part of who he was. He was honored as Pickup Man of the Year by the Wyoming Rodeo Association in 2005, the Nebraska Rodeo Association in 2007 and the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association in 2009. Whether he was working a rodeo, riding his horses, caring for his cattle, or helping friends with their livestock, Marvin found joy in the lifestyle he loved.

Marvin was known for his selfless heart, contagious laugh and smile that could light up a room. He had a mischievous sense of humor and was one of the biggest pranksters you would ever meet, but his jokes always came from a place of kindness. He had a special way of making people smile, laugh and feel welcome. Whether it was lending a helping hand, sharing a story, or giving a big hug, Marvin had a way of making a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Family meant everything to Marvin. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and celebrating the accomplishments of those he loved. When he wasn’t spending time with family, he could often be found playing cards, starting a new project, working with his horses and cattle, or visiting with friends.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Gorsuch of Alliance; his son, Dean (Bekah) Gorsuch of Gering, Neb.; his daughter, Michelle (Josh) Lipker of Green, Kan.; his daughter, Manda (Jess) Clarke of Alliance, Neb.; his son, Losson (Lyndsey) White of Parker, Colo.; his daughter, Sarah (Ross) Pryor of Rapid City, S.D.; and his 16 grandchildren, Caeson Clarke, Taydon Gorsuch, Jaelynne Clarke, Daisy Thompson, Lucy Thompson, Trell Gorsuch, Raimee Lipker, Braeden Clarke, Wakeley White, Raicee Lipker, Greysen McGlashan, Teagan Gorsuch, Lukaen Clarke, Evve Lipker, Wesley White and Ella Pryor.
