Village of Mullen appoints Nuisance Officer

In an effort to clean up nuisance areas in the Village of Mullen, the Village Board has appointed West Central Nebraska Development District, Inc. (WCNDD) as the designated Nuisance Officer to enforce the Nuisance Ordinance throughout the community.

Near the end of April, WCNDD will be conducting individual assessments in the community to identify properties that may be in violation with the Village of Mullen Nuisance Ordinance. Community members that receive a letter will have approximately 30 days to clear their property of violations before another review will be conducted.

Items that will be looked at include, but are not limited to, unlicensed vehicles (including trailers), auto parts, household appliances, dead trees, and other discarded items. Those properties that require cleanup will be notified by a certified courtesy letter encouraging owners and tenants to clear items from the property.

For more information on the ordinance or the process of the Nuisance Program, please call either the Village of Mullen Office or West Central Nebraska Development District.
