Letter to Editor

Dear Editor,

Sometimes we fail to appreciate our town, but there are things that often happen here that let us know it’s pretty special:

Only in Mullen -

•While standing in the grocery line, an out of town customer tells those of us listening how friendly and nice our town is.

•While paying for my groceries, one of the employees carried them to my car and while putting them in, rolled up the windows because it started to rain.

•Desserts are hand delivered to some elderly and shut ins, often with prayers.

•You get the wrong number and talk for 15 minutes.

•You get a card back that had the wrong address and while standing there berating yourself, someone gives you the right one.

•While driving down the street, a friend calls out to you and you stop and visit as other cars go around you.

•You spend an hour in any store visiting with people you don’t see often when you only stopped to get one item. This includes the store clerks who are always friendly when they have time.

I’m sure there are many more, so feel free to add to my list.
