The North Platte Community Playhouse’s performance of “Steel Magnolias” was attended by a group from Mullen on Sunday, Nov. 12. A total of 12 left Mullen on 2 of the county’s handi buses and several private cars. We had lunch at the Kings Buffet/Mongolian Grill and then went to the matinee performance at 1:00 p.m. MT. Afterwards the cast was met and complimented on their fine performance.
The next Sunday matinee trip is scheduled for Feb. 18 to see “Sister Act The Musical.” (As a side note, one of the cast members is Mullen native Chantel (Sullivan) Burch as Mother Superior). Lunch will be at the Kings Buffet/Mongolian Grill and perhaps a stop for a coffee treat after the performance if time allows. Everyone is invited to join in for the fun.
Tickets are $18 prepaid. Please contact Deborah Hertz at Macke’s Grocery before Feb. 5, as we wish to buy a block of seats up front and they need to be purchased as soon as they go on sale on Feb. 5. The handi buses are reserved ($8 per person), so no driving unless you want to! We are looking forward to seeing “Sister Act The Musical!”
