Zachary Fred Dady, age 48, of Broken Bow, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Good Samaritan CHI Health in Kearney after lengthy health issues.
Zachary was born Feb. 27, 1976, in Broken Bow to Fred and Debbi (Clay) Dady.
He attended school in Broken Bow, Thedford, and graduated as a Mullen Bronco of which he was very proud of.
Zach was a Husker fan and Bronco fan, and loved a get together on game day. From the love of flying his airplanes to helping young kids learn to “fly,” he was happiest being his own pilot.
Zachary was strong-willed and a bit stubborn at times. But he had a heart of gold, a mischievous smile and a big bear hug.
He touched many lives working for Western Engineering Road Construction, and even as a ranch hand for the Gary Hoyt Ranch, stating “I should have been a cowboy.”
He loved spending time with family and friends, and when his final time came, he carried himself with strength, dignity, and love for those close to him.
To most people, the sky is the limit, but to Zach, who loved flying, the sky was home. Zachary is finally home. In typical Zach fashion, he would tell you. Never quit, never give up, fly it to the end!
Zachary is survived by his mother Debbi Dady, brother Zane Dady, sister Laci Dady, nephews Dylanger Dady and Kaden Dady, special niece Stella Dady (whom Zach spoiled rotten), John McKimmey, uncle Bob (Diann) Clay of Aurora, aunts Deanna Wilson of Riverton, Wyo., Janet Clay of Broken Bow, and Carol Clay of LeMars, Iowa, and many other family and friends.
Zachary was preceded in death by his father Fred Dady, grandfathers Gail Clay and Ivan Dady, (Zach will get to meet his grandmothers for the first time, Stella Clay and Genevieve Dady), aunt Jan (Dady) Trotter, uncles Gail Clay Jr, Dusty Clay, Bill Clay, and John Wilson, cousins Randy Clay and Wendy Wilson.
Funeral services were March 13, 2024, at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow. Memorials are suggested to the family. Govier Brothers Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.govierbrothers. com.
