Options at Mullen Rural Health Clinic

After serving Mullen at first Sandhills Family Medicine and then Great Plains Family Medicine - Mullen Clinic for 32 years, Dr. Steve Boyer and Dr. Margaret Cavanaugh-Boyer retired in September.

When Great Plains Health closed the Mullen clinic with the doctors’ retirement, there was a void that needed filled not only for Mullen but also the surrounding rural area.

As the word got out that the clinic was closing, other providers showed interest in helping to provide healthcare in Mullen. Great Plains Health had only been renting the building from Sandhills Medical Foundation, which has owned the building since it was built in the 1980s.

Dr. Margaret said seeing continuity provided for the area was important to her and now there are several options for providers to see at the Mullen Rural Health Clinic, with

Mondays

Dr. Kelley Hasenauer, APRNNP, of Platte Valley Women’s Healthcare provides family practice services in the afternoons from 1:00-4:30 p.m.

Becca Connealy, RN, can do blood pressure checks and blood draws from 9:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.

Wednesdays

Traci Hoatson, MS, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, and Laurie Soper, MS, APRN, FNP-BC, of Wise Choice Health Care provides family practice and mental health services from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Thursdays

The six doctors of Midlands Family Medicine rotate weeks to come to Mullen, providing a full spectrum of care from 1:00-4:30 p.m. - Jeffrey Brittan, Jason Citta, Shawn Murdock, Jesse Dunn, Tyler Felton and Michael Nelson, all MDs.

They are their own private practice, but are also affiliated with Great Plains Health and see all of their own patients at the hospital in North Platte too.

They are also able to offer a small dispensing pharmacy at the Mullen clinic and have an on call doctor 24/7.
