Gerald W. Seidler

Gerald W. Seidler, 90, went to meet his Maker on March 13, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1935, at the family home to Fred and B. Irene (Bangert) Seidler. After grade school at District 25, he graduated high school from Curtis School of Agriculture in 1952.

He met the love of his life, Irene Sexton in 1952 and they were married on Oct.

10, 1954. They made their home in a 28 foot trailer house on the home place east of Alliance. They moved in 1955 to Mullen, Nebraska, where he worked for Sexton Trucking. Their daughter, Cheryl, was born on Oct. 3, 1955. In 1956 they went to work for Carl Peterson. While working there they had their children, Debbie (1957), Roger (1958), Becky (1960), Mark (1963) and Sandi (1965).

They moved into Alliance in mid-1965 and Gerald went to work for Christy Trucking and then the Mule Shoe Bar Ranch for 6 years. In 1973 they moved east of Alliance where they started their own ranch, working on it until retirement.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 70 years, Irene, his children, Debbie Goodlake of Spokane, Washington, Roger (Patty) of Alliance, Becki Heusman of Alliance, Mark of Alliance and Sandi Cassel of Alliance, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Larry (Connie) Seidler of Alliance and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cheryl, his parents, his brother Wilbur, sister Wanda Dye and his brother Dale.

Funeral services were March 18, 2025, at the Im manuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor Richard C.

Mueller officiated and burial was in the Alliance Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church or Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran School.
