John Roseberry

John J. Roseberry, 89, passed away on Sept. 4, 2026, at Senior Living Choices at Curtis in Curtis, Nebraska.

John was born on April 5, 1937, in Alliance, Nebraska, to parents Paul T. and Marie B.

(Boyer) Roseberry. John grew up on the family ranch in the Sandhills northwest of Mullen. He attended schools at Mullen and graduated from Mullen High School with the class of 1955.

He married Karen Cush-ing on July 1, 1961, and two months after the wedding, John was drafted into the U.S.

Army. He served his country for two years, mostly at San Antonio, Texas, and Manhattan, Kansas. Following his discharge, the couple returned to the Mullen area where they were involved in ranching with his dad and later on his own.

John and Karen had three daughters, when the girls were old enough to attend junior high school, the family moved into Mullen. John began to work for the Abbott Bank in Mullen. John and Karen later moved to Alliance, where he continued to work for the Abbott Bank until his retirement.

Then they moved to Curtis to be near the grandchildren.

John and Karen enjoyed traveling together, finding new golf courses to play on and to watch their grandchildren’s activities. John had a windshield repair businesses until his health made it too difficult. He loved to fix things.

John always had the Cowboy Channel on the TV.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lenore Larsen, brother, Tom Roseberry Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Harry and Grace Cushing; brothers-inlaw Tom and Dick Cushing and Don Larsen, sisters-inlaw Delores McCameron and Estelle Roseberry.

Survivors include his wife Karen, his three daughters Julie (J.R.) Clark of Wellfeet, Neb.; Kathy Roseberry of Eagle, Colo.; Mary Roseberry of Carmichael, Colo.; four grandchildren Wyatt (Adrienne) Clark, Jaden Clark, Madison (Bryce) Doeschot and Aidan Duffy and two great grandchildren; along with extended family and friends.

Private family service will be held at a later date.
