Virginia Lee French (Licking) went to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021. Virginia was born Sept. 30, 1936, in Kearney, Nebraska, to Clyde and Vera Licking.
She was united in marriage to Albert L. French on Aug. 26, 1956. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2011.
They enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Virginia was a member of Southview Christian Church and Palmyra Chapter 257 Order of the Eastern Star, and a long time 4-H club leader. She was a sports fan and if you were within a mile radius, you could hear her cheering on our Nebraska Cornhuskers. She was a wonderful hostess, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her children, Corinne (Thomas) Frerichs of Troy, Illinois, John (Jody) French of Walton, Nebraska, and Katherine French of Walton; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Marilyn) Licking of Lexington, Nebraska, and sister, Charlotte (Terry) Renner of Kearney, Nebraska.
The family thanks all the staff at Legacy Estates, Lincoln, Nebraska, for their loving care over the past 2 1/2 years.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. CT at Southview Christian Church, 2040 S. 22nd Street, Lincoln, NE 68502. Condolences to www.lincolnfh.com. Memorials are suggested to Southview Christian Church or The American Diabetes Association.
