Alexander Werner of Mullen, son of Cameron and Dominique Werner, has been awarded a scholarship from Consolidated Companies, Inc. for the 2026-2027 school year.Alex will receive a scholarship of $2,000 for higher education.

More locals earn college degrees

Seth Hower of Mullen graduated from Calvary University on May 9. The ceremony was held at South Haven Baptist Church in Belton, Missouri. Hower received a Bachelor of Arts in Bible & Theology and a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry, graduating with high honors.

National FCCLA Qualifiers to begin flamingo flocking

A flock of flamingos is projected to land in Mullen during the months of May, June and July. As a fundraiser for National FCCLA in Washington, D.C., the Mullen qualifiers are moving the flamingos nightly.
