Sarah Hardin is 2026 Nebraska Teacher of the Year

by Gerri Peterson Mullen High School 7-12 Science teacher Sarah Hardin was only a few minutes into her Standard Science class on Monday, Sept. 15, starting a new unit about energy, when she was interrupted by an entourage being led into her classroom by MHS Principal Mike Kvanvig.

Last Friday Hooker County Tribune Publisher Gerri Peterson visited the Mullen third grade classroom, delivering not only last week’s issue of the Tribune to the students, but also the September issue of Kid Scoop News - a monthly newspaper designed just for kids!
The Mullen TeamMates Chapter kicked off a new year last Monday, Aug. 18 with a BBQ and TeamMates Trivia. Male mentors are especially always needed! If you are interested, please go to teammates.org and click “Be a Mentor.” Mentors and their mentees meet during the school year on school grounds - this may be before school, over lunch, after school or at a game.
