About a month has passed since the kids have returned to the classroom, activities are off in full swing and the teachers are doing what they do best, educating our children. We are off to a fast start at Mullen Public Schools!

Introducing MHS Homecoming court

Mullen High School’s Homecoming is this Friday, Sept. 20. The parade will be at 1:00 p.m. ending by the Hooker County Library, followed by the pep rally.The volleyball games versus Brady will begin at the Hilltop Gym at 3:30 p.m. and kickoff for the football game is at 6:30 p.m.
The Mullen Area College Fair was held at the Lariat last Monday, Sept. 9. There were 36 representatives from all levels and areas of higher education. College reps from Nebraska, Kansas, Wyoming and South Dakota were in attendance to speak with the students. Other schools attending were Valentine, Sandhills and Thedford. Kara Connealy

On Tuesday, Sept. 10 seven Mullen FFA members competed in the Area 2 Range Judging contest in Arthur. This was a new contest for a lot of them, but their hard work at practices really paid off!The junior division consisted of 93 students in 7th -10th grades.

Mullen 8th graders attend ULNRD field day

The Mullen 8th graders traveled to Thedford last Wednesday, Sept. 4 for the 13th annual Upper Loup NRD field day.They attended six sessions: wildlife, forestry, geology, water, soil and range.
