Phil Hoyt receives retirement award

by Gerri Peterson Last Tuesday, March 10, at the Nebraska State Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Spring Banquet at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Mullen High School Athletic Director Phil Hoyt was recognized with a retirement award.

Freshmen create personalized monsters for kindergartners

The Intro to FCS freshmen and kindergarten classes worked collaboratively to create personalized stuffed animals. The kindergarten class colored pictures of monsters and the freshmen used their hand sewing skills to turn these colored pictures into stuffed animals.

Eighth graders sew shorts, pants in FCS class

The Mullen 8th graders wrapped up the 2nd trimester in FCS with the completion of their sewing projects. Each student successfully sewed a pair of shorts or pants that fit!

Preschool students learn about Mullen ambulance

The Mullen preschool classroom had an exciting visit from the Mullen Ambulance last Tuesday, March 10. It was a hands-on learning experience where the students got to see the ambulance up close, learn about some of the equipment and understand more about these helpers in our community.

Falconers visit Mullen High School

While spending time at the Double R Guest Ranch north of Mullen, Larry McMullen and Jeff Broadbent, both former teachers, brought their falcons to Mullen High School and talked to students in grades 6-12 about the art of falconing.

Licking selected for Girls State

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 109 is pleased to introduce Kalli Marie Licking, a junior at Mullen High School, as Mullen’s delegate to 2026 Cornhusker Girls State. Kalli, the daughter of Roger and Sue Licking, was selected based on criteria established by the ALA / Girls State Program.
