Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team member Whitney Jennings of Seneca competes in the breakaway roping at the MPCC Stampede at the Wild West Arena in North Platte. Jennings won the event in the first rodeo of the doubleheader.
Brooke McCully of Mullen made her college rodeo debut a big success September 15-17 by placing second in breakaway roping at the Chadron State rodeo. Her times were 2.1 and 2.5 seconds. Now a junior at Chadron State, Brooke was on the Eagles’ basketball team the previous two years, but switched to rodeo this fall. There were 97 breakaway ropers at the rodeo. MHS senior Chase Gracey ended his fall high school rodeo season in North Platte on Sunday, Sept. 17. He earned more points in the tie down roping, placing 4th with a 13.440.
