Lady Broncos fall to Anselmo-Merna Coyotes in overtime

 The Lady Broncos hosted the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes last Thursday, Dec. 18. It was another home game impacted by a wind event - this time, the games were pushed back an hour due to high winds across the area to make sure the team and fans could arrive safely.

Lady Broncos earn wrestling medals

Two Lady Bronco wrestlers earned their first high school wrestling medals in Valentine on Friday, Dec. 19.Georgia Wingebach placed 4th at 130. She pinned Makenna Koch (Ainsworth) in 4:27 before being pinned in 0:56 by Grace Drueke (O’Neill).

Boys wrestling team competes back to back

The Mullen Bronco boys wrestling team had meets back to back last week. They first competed in Sutherland on Friday, Dec. 19, where they placed 4th out of 21 teams.Four Broncos came home with medals - three of them winning their weight class.Bo Pettit, Jr. placed first at 132.

Broncos win another close game

by Gerri Peterson Thanks to an unplanned Village of Mullen power outage on the north side of town last Tuesday, the Mullen Bronco boys basketball team only got the JV game in against Valentine. The varsity game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3.

Boys wrestling competes in Gordon

The Mullen Bronco boys wrestling team had six members compete in Gordon last Saturday, Dec. 13.Freshman Bo Pettit Jr.placed 1st at 132. He won by major decision over Nolan Dueker (Bayard) 16-7, pinned Jaxon Kearns (Gordon-Rushville) in 4:44 and then pinned Ian Shane (West Holt) in 4:52.

The Mullen Junior High wrestling teams had their last meet of the season last Tuesday, Dec. 2 at the Sandhills/Thedford Invite in Dunning. The teams are pictured above after the Mullen meet on Nov. 21, where the boys placed 3rd as a team. No team scores were kept for the girls.

The first-ever Mullen High School girls wrestling team kicked off their season last Friday, Dec. 5 at the Southwest Invite in Bartley.Medals were awarded to first through fourth place.Wrestling at 100 pounds, freshman Audrabell Werth was pinned in 1:46 by Gabriela Aguilar of Wray, Colo.
