by Gerri Peterson Mullen Marksman Eli Barnes competed in the 2025 Nebraska State 4-H Air Pistol match on Saturday, Oct. 4 in Grand Island.Competing in the 8-10 year old division, he placed 2nd in Air Pistol Slow Fire and 3rd in Air Pistol Silhouette.

Mullen’s 3rd/4th and 5th/6th youth football teams were both undefeated this year. Mullen High School cross country runners Riley Hegland and Braylon Kuncl finished in the top 15 of their races at the District D-6 meet last Thursday, Oct. 16 in Grant to qualify for State Cross Country. In the girls race, junior Riley Hegland ran a 22:07.68 to place 9th.
