4 youth wrestling champions on Sunday

information submitted by Steven Dent Seventeen Mullen youth wrestlers competed in Valentine and Merna on Sunday, Feb. 26. The kids wrestled tough and battled. We ended up with four champions and a lot of great matches. Valentine’s Cowboy Clash 2023 Results PK 40-42 Merick Lattin: 3rd.

Broncos wrap up regular season

MHS senior On Saturday, Feb. 18th, the Mullen Bronco boys basketball team traveled up to Hay Springs for the final game of the regular season. The Broncos ended up winning in a dogfight with a final score of 60-49. Clayton Moore: 30 points, 19 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 steals, 1 block.

State Basketball on NE Public Media

Lincoln - High school basketball teams from across the state will converge in Lincoln to play for state titles the first two weekends in March. Nebraska Public Media will provide live coverage of championship games played at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Lady Broncos fall to Hay Springs in subdistrict finals

MHS junior The Mullen Lady Broncos ended their season last week with a final record of 7-13. The girls entered subdistricts with a strong mindset, defeating Hyannis 42-26 on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Hay Springs after two previous losses.

Mullen Marksmen compete in Hyannis

Welch is 285 State Wrestling Champion

by Toni Massey, MHS freshman, and Gerri Peterson After a long, rewarding season, the Mullen wrestling boys finally attended the long awaited State Tournament in Omaha, from Thursday, Feb. 16 to Saturday, Feb. 18. Mullen had five state qualifiers, all placing first in the District meet.

Lincoln - February brings NSAA State High School Wrestling, Bowling and Swimming and Diving Championships to Nebraska Public Media. The top high school wrestlers in Nebraska battle for state championships live from the CHI Health Center in Omaha. All boys and girls finals start at 3 p.m.
