Dick Macke of Macke’s Grocery cut up watermelon as fast as he could Monday night as the Mullen High School football team, followed by the Mullen youth football teams, grabbed piece after piece after their practices.

North Platte - The North Platte Community College volleyball team began a new season last week and are 2-2. NPCC is led by Head Volleyball Coach Alexa McCall and assistant coach Kylie Wroot. “We are excited to get started this season,” McCall said.

Mullen youth football games to begin next month

The Mullen youth football teams will begin games next month on Sunday afternoons. The 3-4 grade game will begin at 2:00 p.m. MT, followed by the 5-6 grade game. Sept. 5: vs Sandhills-Thedford Sept. 12: bye Sept. 19 @ Merna Sept. 26 @ Arnold Oct. 3: vs Stapleton Oct. 10: vs Maxwell Oct.

Women’s Golf League Aug. 3, 2021 There were only 10 women that came out for the last night of regular league play for the 2021 season. Pam Ginkens had the low gross score of 48 and the low net score of 31. Leah Carson had 2 pars. Kelly Marsh and Pam Ginkens had 1 par.

Gary Hoyt honored by Nebraska USA Wrestling

Earlier this month, the late Gary Hoyt was inducted into the new Nebraska USA Wrestling Circle of Honor. The other Circle of Honor inductees included: Charlie Krantz, Dennis Miller, Joe Green, James Schnell, Joe Edmundson, Gene Barnhill and Bill Morrison.
