As I sit here on Sunday afternoon, I am trying to find ways to get the Husker football loss out of my mind. I came up with two positives. First, the Huskers have a bye next week, so the odds of a loss this week is very low.

With a pre-teen in our house, our slang knowledge is constantly expanding.It started with goated. In fact both our 11 and 7-year-old were using it.“That’s goated!” I kept telling them, “That is not a word!” and “Stop saying that!

At the Tribune office, Halloween marks the beginning of the Christmas season.The Peterson household (one door away, as the office is attached to our house) doesn’t start decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving.

What a show October has put on for us in the night sky!First there were the northern lights on Oct. 10. Ironically, it was also the 10th of the month back in May when we were treated to an amazing display of them here in the Nebraska Sandhills.But this time was even better.

Over the past few weeks, I have gotten many calls and emails regarding Medicare Advantage and why Great Plains Health and several other rural hospitals gave notice that they will no longer be accepting those plans as of January 1, 2025.
