Pieces of Me

It’s been a while since I shared a recipe in this space - probably because it’s been a while since I had time to do any extra baking.My time in the kitchen for months has been the bare minimum, but I was able to spend an afternoon baking over the weekend, which was literally food for my soul.

On Monday, we had the opportunity to observe another Memorial Day and pay our respects to all those men and women who gave their lives for our country while serving in the armed services. This is also a time when we can personally reach out to thank all of our Gold Star Families.

Dave Says

Dear Dave, I’m in college fulltime right now, and my parents have been generous enough to pay for some of my school expenses. In addition, they let me live at home while I complete my degree.

Last week, we celebrated National Police Week, as well as Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15. The week is a solemn observance in the United States that pays tribute to the local, state, and federal peace officers who have died or been disabled in the line of duty.

Back in November we booked plane tickets for a family vacation to Seattle this month. We wrapped up a paper airplane and gifted the trip to our kids at Christmas.I’m always looking forward to something, and this trip had been greatly anticipated by all of us.

Dear Dave, My wife and I have three young daughters. Is there a Baby Step for weddings? We didn’t see one in your plan, but I was wondering if it was included in any of the other Baby Steps. Cedric Dear Cedric, This is a really good question.

In addition to serving as vice-chair of the Banking, Commerce, and Insurance Committee these past two years, I also served on the Natural Resources Committee. This committee heard many power-related bills that could impact District 42. We are fortunate to be home to the Gerald Gentleman power plant.

I CAN PRINT ON TUESDAYS!!!!!!!!Hallelujah!!!These were the texts between my husband Dane and I earlier this month after I’ve spent over nine months working six if not seven days a week for a 9:00 a.m. Monday print deadline.I had reached my breaking point.

If you come inspect our toilets (I wouldn’t recommend it), you’ll see that like many things around here, cleaning them has definitely been put on the back burner. Though they must not be too bad because I’ve learned over 15 years of marriage that if something gets too gross, Dane will clean it!
