One of my biggest pet peeves is wasting food. I’m not sure when this pet peeve began, but I’m sure working in food service at my college’s cafeteria and then living on my own and having to purchase all of my own food in college is a good bet.

Dear Dave, I’m getting married this summer and about to become a stepmom. To be honest, I’m a little worried about the family dynamic. My fiancé’s daughter from an earlier marriage seems a bit irresponsible. She’s 23, has trouble holding a job and still lives at home.

Tuesday, Feb. 20, marks Day 30 of the 60-day legislative session. So far, the session has been moving along at a good pace, and the demeanor on the legislative floor has been very positive. We have had some robust debate, but bills have been moving along quickly.

Dear Dave, Our 21-year-old son is in college, and we’ve always warned him to stay away from credit cards. Despite our warnings, we recently learned he got a store-branded credit card. The good news is he has stayed under the credit limit.

Much has been written about the Governor’s property tax reduction goals and how changes in sales tax can play a role in funding the cost of the reduction. I would like to review once again how taxes are currently collected in Nebraska and who collects them.
