Nature in the Neighborhoods Grant

The Upper Loup Natural Resources District (ULNRD) offers the Nature in Neighborhoods Grant, providing up to $1,000 for local outdoor projects.This non-competitive, first-come, first-serve grant requires no matching funds. It awards 50% of the money upfront and 50% upon project completion and review.

Mullen’s Todd Peters received the custom-built Indian Motorcycle he was honored with during the Heroes Honor Ride on Sunday, Aug. 9 in South Dakota. The nomination his daughter Erica wrote for him to be chosen was published in the July 9 issue of the Tribune.

Bicycle Rodeo sees 30 participants

by Gerri Peterson Thirty pre-K through sixth graders participated in the Bicycle Rodeo last Tuesday evening, July 28, competing in the events of sponge race, poles and race. The event was sponsored by the Country Clovers 4-H Club.

Hooker County 4-H building exhibit results

submitted by Theresa Thomas, CSA Extension 4-H members had a variety of static entries on display at the Hooker County Community Center last week during the Hooker County Fair.Clover Kid 4-H projects are for children who are 5-7 years old by Jan. 1 of the current year.
The Hooker County Community Center was full for the Melodrama performance Tuesday evening, July 28. Cast members are pictured l-r: Ty Kvanvig, Mitch Pfeiffer, Wynn Micheel, Luke Peters, Kyler Horn - Director, Malia Oltmer, Tate Kvanvig, Ava Kvanvig, Medora DeNaeyer, Kim Cooley. A free will donation was taken at the event to help raise funds to replace the Lariat stage curtains and for equipment such as spotlights for future performances. Gerri Peterson
