Baseball executive-turned-author Bob Wirz is headed to Nebraska for a whirlwind junket to discuss his recentlypublished book “My Nebraska”, which lovingly recalls growing up in the Cornhusker state in the 1940s and 1950s.

The 2023 Hooker County Fair King & Queen are John and Julie Kraye. John Kraye is a Mullen native, and other than a year in college in Kearney, he has been here his whole life. Julie was born and raised in Wheatridge, Colorado.

Free clinic for ranchers

A free farm finance clinic for farmers and ranchers and their families will be held in Valentine on Thursday, July 20. The clinic is confidential, one-on-one sessions with an experienced ag law attorney and ag finance counselor. These clinics have been offered in Nebraska since 1989.
