Mullen Book Club’s next book pick

The Mullen Book Club will be discussing “Dear Edward” by Ann Napolitano at their next meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 6:00 p.m. on the Hooker County Courthouse lawn. If the weather doesn’t cooperate they will meet at the Mullen Arts Center.

Eucharistic Miracle Boards to be at St. Mary’s August 11-16

The Grand Island Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (GIDCCW), in response to our 2023 Resolution to support the Eucharistic Revival in our diocese and parishes, has put together a tour across the diocese of the Eucharistic Miracle Boards from Spirit Catholic Radio.

Brown receives boys golf coaching awards

by Gerri Peterson The Nebraska Coaches Association 55th Annual Awards Banquet was held in Lincoln on Sunday, July 23. Mullen’s Mike Brown was presented with three awards at the banquet, all for boys golf.

Tuesday, Bob and Peggy Marsh had dental appointments in Valentine. The Marshes had some extra haying help this last week with Dean and Ty Marsh of rural Kearney spending a few days at the ranch. Peggy helped with the farewell reception for Ken Clark Wednesday afternoon at the Old Hotel in Mullen.
