Dear Editor, I attended the June 1, 2023, Village of Mullen Board meeting and addressed the Board regarding the nuisance ordinances. I think it is imperative that we the people hold our elected officials accountable and remind them they work for us.

Smith Falls reopens with new boardwalk

Visitors are again enjoying the sight of Smith Falls, Nebraska’s tallest waterfall. The waterfall at Smith Falls State Park, and the newly constructed 500-foot boardwalk to it, reopened May 26 with only finishing touches remaining in the process.

Deb Arends of Elwood spent Tuesday and Wednesday with her mom, Alice Phipps. Anthony Schutz of Lincoln and part of his family called on Alice Sunday morning. They had ran in the Sandhills Marathon at Brownlee on Saturday.
