Local Veterans Day activities planned

Mullen’s annual Veterans Day program will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lariat. The program will be streamed on Striv at: https:// striv.tv/channel/mullen/.
Trick-or-treaters could be seen for blocks down Mullen’s streets on a perfect Halloween evening Monday. At many houses those handing out candy were also out enjoying the weather, sitting on their steps, porches and decks. Gerri Peterson

The little unincorporated village of Seneca sits on the line between central and mountain time zones. It is on the western edge of Thomas County, which is central time, and just west, one enters Hooker County and mountain time zone.

Clyde Huddle of Humansville, Missouri, came Thursday to visit Terry and Mardell Huddle until Sunday. - - - South Cherry - - - Bob and Peggy Marsh went to North Platte Thursday for appointments. They went on to Elm Creek to the Mullen football playoffs.

Operation Christmas Child shoebox drop-off site now here

The Samaritan’s Purse project “Operation Christmas Child” collects shoebox gifts filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way.
