- - - South Cherry - - - Bob and Peggy Marsh attended the memorial service for Jim Devine at the Seneca Cemetery and the lunch following at the auditorium. Wade and Jeri Marsh stopped at the Bob Marshes Wednesday night. Peggy went to North Platte Thursday and visited Dorothy James at Linden Court.

Meet Al Davis in Mullen this Friday

Mullen - Former Senator Al Davis will be traveling to Mullen to discuss solutions on issues impacting Nebraskans. Al is the running mate for Senator Carol Blood, candidate for governor. The event will be held on Friday, June 10 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. MDT in the Hooker County Library Basement.

Annual Girl Scout Day Camp held

Seventeen Mullen Girl Scouts attended Day Camp May 23 through 26. The week started out with rain, so Monday the girls played games and did crafts at the Methodist Church. It’s a great place to spread out when you can’t be outdoors.

Home preservation classes

Nebraskans are excited as they prepare their gardens anticipating what they want to home preserve throughout the growing season. Nebraska Extension is offering hands-on workshops in North Platte. On June 7 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Online training available for substitute teaching certification

Individuals interested in becoming substitute teachers can earn their credentials through Mid-Plains Community College. MPCC is offering two of the classes needed to obtain a Local Substitute Permit from the Nebraska Department of Education. The permits are valid for three years.
