Alan and Bonnie Little of North Platte and Janelle Bauer and boys Samuel and Emmett of Cozad came up to visit Goldie Little Saturday. They all went out to the James Cemetery and cleaned it up. They came back to Goldie’s and had pizza for dinner that Alan and Bonnie had brought.

South Hooker

Diane French of Boise, Idaho, and Nancy Labbe of Hudson, Colorado, came to visit Larry and Georgann French Friday and left Sunday. Midge Harding went to Lori Folk’s bridal shower at the Assembly of God Church Sunday afternoon.

South Cherry

Bob and Peggy Marsh picked up Bill Thurston at Hyannis and the three attended the bronc and bull riding at the Ogallala fairgrounds Saturday night. They had a good visit with Zeke Thurston of Big Valley, Alberta, Canada. Peggy helped with the Cedarview Cemetery cleanup Sunday.

Round pen sermon

The public is invited to watch Paul Daily, of Wild Horse Ministries based in Trout, Louisianna, as he presents a round pen sermon, taking an unbroken horse through the steps beginning with submission to being sold out and committed to the ride.

2022 One Book One Nebraska

The Mullen Book Club will be discussing the 2022 One Book One Nebraska selection, “The Bones of Paradise” by Jonis Agee at their next meeting on Wednesday, June 15 at 6 p.m. They will meet on the lawn in front of the Hooker County Library, so bring a lawn chair. Anyone is welcome any month!

VBS is June 13-17 at Methodist Church

Explore God’s word on the Vacation Bible School Rocky Railway at the Mullen United Methodist Church June 13-17. Held daily from 9 a.m. - noon, VBS is for any child aged potty trained 3-year-olds to sixth grade. Sixth graders may attend class or be helpers.
