Nebraska Beef Council seeks directors

Kearney - The Nebraska Beef Council is seeking candidates in four districts to serve on the board of directors in 2023. Directors volunteer their time to represent fellow beef producers while overseeing Beef Checkoff collections and investments on the state, national, and international level.

Volunteers needed for Boys State Golf

North Platte – On May 24th and 25th, the best of Nebraska High School Class D boys’ golfers will compete in North Platte for the state championship title. The event is expected to draw 90-110 golfers to the Lake Maloney Golf Course.

On your marks... get set... go! Around 30 kids scattered across the Hooker County Courthouse lawn last Wednesday morning, April 13 for a chilly Easter Egg Hunt. Everyone left with Easter baskets stuffed to the brim with goodies of all kinds from the Mullen Commercial Club.

Sandhills Task Force to hold drought meetings

Currently, 95% of Nebraska is experiencing moderate to extreme drought conditions, including 100% of the Sandhills. Drought conditions are a significant factor in management decisions on the ranch. Many tools and options are available to enable ranchers to make informed decisions.

Mullen places 3rd, 1st in own art show

The Mullen Art Show was held at the Lariat on Tuesday April 12. Mullen High School placed 3rd out of 14 teams with 61 points behind Broken Bow’s 97 and Gothenburg’s 69. In the Junior High division, Mullen placed 1st out of 13 teams with 172 points.
