Hooker County receives dividend check

Lincoln - Hooker County has received another membership dividend, this time in the amount of $495, from the Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association (NIRMA), the county’s property, liability and workers’ compensation coverage and risk management services provider.

Roger Olson of Papillion came Monday to visit Dorothy James. On Tuesday Roger took Dorothy to Broken Bow for an appointment. They met Rodney Olson and his mother Berdie for lunch and a visit. Roger went home Wednesday. Megan Andersen and Harper stopped by Dorothy’s for a visit Sunday.

South Cherry

Jeri and Jaci Edis spent last Monday at the Bob Marshes. Jeri also came out Wednesday. Bob Marsh went to Hyannis Friday afternoon and visited Wyatt Thurston and Kaitlyn Fishgrab.

Lloyd Harding of Bridgeport came Friday night to visit Mick and Midge Harding for deer hunting and left Sunday.

The dangers of downed powerlines

Columbus – As winter approaches, Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) wants to remind people of the dangers of downed powerlines. Winter storms can bring a few different threats to powerlines including galloping, downed, and floating wires.
