St. Mary’s Catholic Church hosted a community Oktoberfest at the Hooker County Community Center last Saturday, Oct. 9. They served brats with kraut, mac and cheese, soft serve pretzels and Oktoberfest beer.

Sharilyn Bader went to Rapid City, South Dakota, Thursday and stayed with her daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Nathan Oliver and family. They attended the Broadway Cats performance at the Civic Center Saturday evening. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and came home Sunday afternoon.

Bob and Peggy Marsh went to Axtell Thursday for Jenna Marsh’s volleyball game. Peggy attended the work day at the Old Hotel Saturday morning and had a really good crew of workers. Dean Marsh of rural Kearney was here for a late lunch Saturday. Ty Marsh stopped by Sunday evening.

Twenty-seven units of blood were collected at the American Red Cross blood drive on Monday, Oct. 11 at the Sandhills Community Bible Church.
