Mullen Girl Scouts to begin year Monday, Sept. 20

Mullen Girl Scouts will officially get underway on Monday, Sept. 20 at the grade school lunchroom at 3:30 p.m. This Rally Day will be for the purpose of getting organized and enjoying some Girl Scout games and songs!

Goodwill Club holds meeting Sept. 2

Goodwill Club of Family and Community Education met Thursday morning, Sept. 2 at the village meeting room with president Lois Folk opening the meeting. Flag salute and club creed were given. The club song, “Onward, Ever Onward” was sung.

Tate Kvanvig (pictured above, right) won the 13-year-old boy division at the State Pedal Pull held in the Heartland Events Center at the Nebraska State Fair on Sept. 5. Tate had three full pulls to win, the last one with 370 pounds of weight. Tate is the son of Mike and Arla Kvanvig of Mullen.

43rd District 9-3-2021 The first very nice, cool morning came to Lincoln this week. It reminded me that fall is just around the corner and colder weather is coming. I paused to remember the coldest winter in living memory last year, and Nebraskans’ power being shut off by people in other states.

Upland Slam challenge for hunters

Lincoln – Hunters again are challenged to go afield with family and friends this fall to complete the Nebraska Upland Slam by harvesting all four of Nebraska’s primary upland game bird species.
